Stone's Warehouse Survey Results

For two weeks in December, downtown residents ran an online survey in order to gather feedback about the proposals for the block at 500 East Davie Street, the location of the historic Stone's Warehouse. Proposals included a mix of elements including a grocery store, new residential, and museum.

We collected 318 responses and the responses show resounding support for the proposal by Transfer Company LLC. Their proposal is for a neighborhood grocery store and cafe, space for small producers, a community hall, and 16 townhomes. In addition to renovating the warehouse a new building would be constructed for additional food and drink business on the site.

The community feedback has been very supportive and open. The results also align with the recommendations made by the city's Budget and Econonmic Development Committee and Raleigh city staff.
